does any one know if you can air layer Arizona cypress i have a very tall one about 6 ft tall i need to bring down to size and id like to make a few more from this one.
Air layering can be a reliable method for propagating Cupressus trees. Cuttings or seed germination are more common in the nursery industry but thats probably because of scale and the skill/time/attention required to airlayer. Might take two seasons worst case, give it a go! Might as well make some cuttings as a backup nothing to lose but about 30 minutes of your time! I would definitely use rooting hormone on both airlayer and cuttings.

Ok I’ll probably give it a go next year I did quit a bit of root work and I want to let it recover from that first.
