I am a member of the Bonsai Society of Yakima since 2013 and currently serve as secretary. In the ‘80s I saw my first azalea Bonsai and I was hooked! However, it took me years to get to a place in my life where I could really work at it and be successful growing and keeping the trees alive. (and it’s still a work in progress) Glad that I found the Club and Ryan’s web site, which have both helped immensely.
I like learning about the species and the different ways that you must fertilize, prune, transplant them to be successful. I like going on digs to find yamadori and I enjoy growing from seeds and cuttings too. I really like the artistic side of bonsai though, both creating on my own and collaborating with others.
