This may sound weird…but it’s definitely something I’d try if I couldn’t get bamboo… what about glueing 6 or 8 flat skewers (or long tongue depressors, large popcicle sticks, etc) together, clamping to hold tight, and then shaping them as one when dry? And maybe using a piece of plastic from an empty food container for the smooth side…If I can’t get something I need I really try to think outside the box. Meh, it’s a thought?
