# Stands and the relationship with pots

There appears to be a lot written about the relationship between tree and pot, but not so much about the relationship between pot and stand. Can anyone shed some light on this?  
I acquired a nice hawthorn last year, and recently I have had a pot made for it. I would like to exhibit the tree, and I am looking at making a stand, so any pointers would be appreciated.
