Play around with taking pictures of different front angles too. You learn a lot about 2D views of the tree

I finished wiring all the branches, I think this will do for this season as I don’t want to stress this poor juniper any longer.

I managed to eliminate the triangle that was disturbing the view, thanks again for the inputs, I also posted this tree on next week’s q & a so im looking forward to hearing what Ryan has to say about it.

I think it looks great! Nicely done, I really like how you handled the top branches. A tree is never finished. Just pauses for a time being 😉

Just wanted to thank you guys again, if you have seen this week’s Q&A you can maybe imagine how happy I am right now 😊 Ryan’s input was awesome and I couldn’t have achieved such a positive response without the help of you guys on the forum.

Love Nico

Have you had the session with Ryan yet?

I’ve been following the conversation and I think there are still several structural flaws you might consider.

First, the movement in the left trunk is just great. But contrast that to the bar-like second trunk on the right. With the new angle the bar is almost more accentuated. Then, after the bar, the rest of the trunk forms a bow shape. Overall I’m wondering what this whole second trunk is even contributing. If the whole thing were broken off towards the base you would have a story of a broken and fallen trunk that might be convincing and further privilege the literati expressiveness of the left trunk.

Then there are parallel lines in many places. The two apices form à shelf. The one part for improvement on the left trunk is the linear portion.

Finally the pot. It’s an awesome pot. But the tree is just swimming in it. Also, I’m not sure whether the alabaster white and rectilinear granite feel fit the light and playful tree. Maybe it contrasts in a productive way but not at that size difference. The literati left trunk in à container 1/4 of the width might be a better fit.

Hi,

First of all thanks for your input, I did recieve feedback from Ryan its on this week’s Q&A. Regarding the straight trunk, I agree that it doesn’t reflect the left trunk but its not as straight as it looks I think I can play with the angle a bit to show the nice movement it actually has, Ryan seemed more concerned about the length of the straight line it created and suggested I play with the foliage that forms the right apex. Regarding the bow branch, again, I agree, I will adress that next year, either by reducing the bottom branch of the right trunk or removing it completely. I also noticed that the two apices are at the same height but that’s an easy fix i guess 😅 .

I have been wrestling with the idea of removing the whole trunk myself but so far I managed to improve it so much already in my opinion so for now I’ll keep it, worse case scenario the deadwood it will create will become more interesting because of the various layers it will have by the time I decide to jin it.

Ps: I don’t know if you were being sarcastic about the pot ( I hope so ) but its not actually a pot, its a polystyrene fish box from my chip shop 🤣 but thanks for the suggestion of the new pot even tho I don’t know if I should be taking suggestions from a polystyrene boxes lover 🤣🤣 ( no disrespect intended just thought it was funny )

Love

Nico

OMG so embarrassing 😅 but also hilarious. Hey I thought I was looking at one of these in your photo:

You know, genius inspiration can come from anywhere. Perhaps these $2000-6500 ceramic innovations came from fish boxes. 😆
