Does anyone have practical experience. Using shade to improve the aged rough bark . Trees develops rugged bark earlier on the north side of trees first . ( in the northern hemisphere) Kimura Placed a white pine near a wall . So the trunk was shaded and the foliage was still in full sun . To speed the aging of the bark . ( refer to bonsai today ) My question is has anyone tried it . What technique used . Attempts success failure . Has Ryan ever mentioned it
